Care Pathways in Patients with Rheumatoid Arthritis in an Integrated Healthcare System

In this study, we propose to identify clinical pathways using electronic medical records (EMR) in patients with Rheumatoid Arthritis. Defining clinical pathways will be helpful to identify potential care gaps or implementing a standardized care pathway in an integrated healthcare system. Also, pathway analysis may guide quality of care initiatives by identifying patients who may benefit the most from case management interventions. More importantly understanding costs of outcomes regarding each care path will help inform healthcare providers when making decisions about implementation of these programs.
